
The total number of valid candidates for 300 seats in the 13th National Parliament election is 1,842. In addition, the nominations of 723 candidates have been canceled.

The EC said that this time, 3,406 candidates received their nomination papers from the Election Commission, against which 2,568 candidates submitted their nomination papers.
According to the information provided in this report, among the 10 administrative regions of the EC, 279 nomination papers were submitted against 33 seats in the Rangpur region. 219 were declared valid and 59 were cancelled. 260 nomination papers were submitted against 39 seats in the Rajshahi region. 185 were declared valid and 74 nomination papers were cancelled. 275 nomination papers were submitted against 36 seats in the Khulna region. Of these, 196 were declared valid and 79 nomination papers were cancelled.
162 candidates submitted nomination papers against 21 seats in Barisal region. However, 122 were rejected. 442 candidates submitted nomination papers against 41 seats in Dhaka region. But of these, 309 candidates were declared valid. And the nomination papers of 133 were rejected. 142 candidates submitted nomination papers against 15 seats in Faridpur region. Of these, 96 candidates were declared valid. And 46 were declared rejected.
146 candidates filed nomination papers against 19 seats in Sylhet region. 110 candidates filed nomination papers and 36 were declared invalid. 357 candidates filed nomination papers against 25 seats in Comilla region. 259 of them were declared invalid and 97 were declared invalid. According to the schedule announced by the EC, the selection of nomination papers ended at 5 pm today, Sunday. Appeals against the decision of the Returning Officer can be filed from January 5 to January 9. The appeal will be disposed of from January 10 to 18. The last date for withdrawal of candidacy is January 20. The Returning Officer will publish the final list of candidates and allocate symbols on January 21. The election campaign will start on January 22. Campaigning can be conducted until 7:30 am on February 10. And voting will be held on February 12.
