
The army has recovered foreign weapons, bullets and explosives in a raid at the capital’s Airport Railway Station based on specific information.
The special operation was conducted on Sunday (October 26) at around 11 am. During this time, a specific compartment of the Banalata Express train departing from Rajshahi was searched and 8 foreign pistols, 16 magazines, 26 rounds of ammunition, 2.39 kg of gun powder and 2.23 kg of plastic explosives were recovered.
The ISPR said in a press release on Sunday. Four people suspected of being involved in the incident have been handed over to the police for preliminary questioning.
The Bangladesh Army is always committed to protecting public safety, law and order and national security and such coordinated operations to suppress terrorism, sabotage and crime will continue in the future, the release said.
