Bangladesh reserves rise to  billion

The country’s total foreign exchange reserves have now increased to $32,178 million or $32.17 billion, the central bank said.

Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and Spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan confirmed the matter on Monday (October 27).

According to the latest data of the central bank, the country’s gross reserve as of October 27 stood at $32178 million. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) calculation system BPM-6, the reserve is now $27,376.59 million.

Earlier, the country’s gross reserves stood at $32,107.91 million as of October 21. According to the International Monetary Fund’s BPM-6 accounting system, the reserve was $27,350.93 million.

The net reserves are calculated according to the IMF’s BPM-6 measurement. The amount of net or actual reserve is obtained by subtracting the short-term liabilities from the total reserve.
