The partial committees of the central and Dhaka University branches of the student wing of the National Citizen Party, Jatiya Chhatra Shakti, have been announced. These committees were announced on Friday night.

Zahid Ahsan has been appointed as the president and Abu Baker Majumder as the general secretary of the central committee. Abu Touhid Md. Siam has been appointed as the organizing secretary (northern region) and Mohir Alam as the organizing secretary (southern region). Tahmid Al Muddassir Chowdhury has been appointed as the president of the Dhaka University committee, Al Amin Sarkar as the general secretary and Md. Saifullah as the organizing secretary.

A separate circular signed by the central committee president and general secretary informed about the formation of the two committees. It has been mentioned that the committees will be completed within the next seven working days.

Zahid Ahsan, who was appointed as the central president, was the central member secretary of the Bangladesh Democratic Students’ Union (BDSU). It is learnt that he was given this position as a reward for not being elected from the organization’s panel in this year’s DUCSU elections.

Abu Baker Majumdar, a student of the Department of Geology of Dhaka University in the 2019-20 session, was one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement. He was the convener of the Bagchas Central Committee. He became the GS candidate of the anti-discrimination student parliament panel in the DUCSU elections.

Dhaka University branch president Tahmid Al Muddassir Chowdhury was the main organizer of Bagchas. He was an independent candidate for the post of associate general secretary in the DUCSU elections. He was in discussions to be a candidate for the post from Bagchas’ panel. However, he was not nominated in the end.

DU General Secretary Al Amin Sarkar was selected as the Sports Secretary from the Bagchas panel at DUCSU. He was the Senior Joint Member Secretary in the Bagchas DU Committee.
