The Women’s Asia Cup will be held in Australia in March next year. In preparation for that tournament, the Bangladesh women’s football team will play two friendly matches in Thailand. Bangladesh lost the first match held in Bangkok today by 0-3 goals.

Bangladesh was trailing by 1 goal in the first half of the match. The home team scored two more goals in the second half. Bangladesh had to leave the field with a score of 3-0. Although the match was sanctioned by FIFA in Bangkok, Thailand, the BFF and the Thai Football Association kept the match behind closed doors.

Bangladeshi football fans did not get the chance to watch the game due to the lack of live broadcast. The BFF media department provided information but did not mention the goal scorers and goal times.

The Bangladesh women’s football team played a match against Thailand again after a decade. Thailand defeated Bangladesh 9-0 in the 2013 Asian Cup qualifiers. After a decade, Bangladesh lost 3-0 to Thailand.

Thailand is a regular team in the Women’s Asia Cup. This time, they are unable to play in the Asia Cup after losing to India. Their position in the FIFA rankings is 53. Bangladesh’s ranking is 104. Bangladesh has confirmed the Asian Cup for the first time. Rituparna-Afidad’s Women’s Asian Cup was confirmed last July. After that, they started playing international matches today. The next match is on October 27.
