Brazil will play two friendlies in November this year. The Seleção will play against African countries Senegal and Tunisia in London and France. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has announced the squad for these two upcoming matches. However, Neymar has not been included in that team this time either.
Neymar returned to the field after 43 days of injury. Although he returned to the field for Santos on Sunday (November 2), Ancelotti did not consider him for the national team. He said, “Neymar has not been spoken to yet. Let’s see when he can play fully fit.” Neymar has not played for Brazil since 2023.
The 26-man squad announced on Tuesday (November 4) features three new faces – Palmeiras striker Viitor Roque and experienced midfielder Fabinho, who will play for the national team after a three-year absence.
In addition, young forward Viitor Roque, who made his debut in 2023, has been called up again after almost two years. Fabinho has received his first call-up since the 2022 Qatar World Cup. On the other hand, R. Juba has received a chance in the Brazil team for the first time.
Ancelotti also included Vinicius Junior, who recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the coach’s decision in El Clasico. He said, “We have a good relationship with Vinicius Junior, as with other players. I spoke to him. I told him my thoughts, he made a mistake. He understood the mistake and apologized. I believe that’s the end of it. He is a very important player for us.”
Brazil will take on Senegal at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on November 15 at 10pm Bangladesh time. The five-time world champions will then face Tunisia at the Decathlon Stadium in Lille, France, on November 19 at 1:30am.
Coach Ancelotti considers these two matches important as part of the preparation for the 2026 World Cup. He said, “The tests we did were good; because through them we were able to evaluate some players who we didn’t know well before.”
