Hallmark Group Managing Director (MD) Md. Tanvir Mahmud (55) has died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital. He was serving a prison sentence in the Hallmark scam case.

He died while undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 10:30 pm on Saturday (November 29). AIG (Development) of the Prisons Department Md. Jannat-ul Farhad confirmed this information.

He said that Hallmark Group MD Tanvir Mahmud was taken from Dhaka Central Jail to DMCH after his illness worsened in the afternoon. He was sent from the jail to the hospital at 1:35 pm. Later, he was admitted to DMCH at 4 pm. On the doctor’s orders, he was kept in extra bed number 19.

His condition deteriorated rapidly after he was admitted to the hospital. Later, doctors declared him dead around 10:30 pm on Saturday.

Tanvir Mahmud was imprisoned in a case filed by Ramna Police Station.

Prison authorities said he had been suffering from various complex diseases for a long time.
