
Ten people died of dengue from 8 am on Tuesday to 8 am on Wednesday (in one day). During the same period, 1,069 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals.
This information was announced in a press release sent from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Wednesday (November 5).
The department said that in the past 24 hours, five people have died in the Dhaka South City Corporation area, three in the North City Corporation area, and one each in Khulna and Barisal divisions.
It said that 1,069 patients were admitted to hospitals due to dengue in the past 124 hours. Of them, 128 were in Barisal division, 99 in Chittagong division, 219 in Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 251 in Dhaka North City, 152 in Dhaka South City, 68 in Khulna division (outside the City Corporation), 70 in Mymensingh division (outside the City Corporation), 34 in Rajshahi division (outside the City Corporation), 43 in Rangpur division (outside the City Corporation) and 5 in Sylhet division (outside the City Corporation).
Meanwhile, 958 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country in the past 12 hours, bringing the total number of people discharged this year to 71,487.
A total of 75,992 patients have been admitted to hospitals since January this year. So far this year, 302 people have died from dengue.
Incidentally, from January to December 31, 2024, 101,214 people were hospitalized due to dengue and a total of 575 people died from dengue. Earlier, from January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died due to dengue and a total of 321,179 people were hospitalized due to dengue that year.
