US President Donald Trump has released a photo of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who was arrested at his residence in the middle of the night on Saturday (January 3) and taken by helicopter to a US Navy warship. He and his wife are being taken to Venezuela.

In a photo published on social media, Truth shows Maduro wearing a gray tracksuit, blindfolded with a black eyepatch, and holding a water bottle.

He also has giant headphones in his ears. It is unclear whether Maduro’s wife is with him, as she is not seen in the photo released by Trump.

Trump had earlier said that Maduro was on board the USS Iwo Jima, the warship. He told Fox News, “They’re on the USS Iwo Jima, they’re on the ship. They’re going to be taken to New York. They were taken out of the palace by helicopter first. They had a very nice helicopter flight — I believe they enjoyed it very much. But remember, Maduro and his wife have killed many, many people.”
