Tanzir Tuhin intoxicates ‘Cafe’ with a fusion of Bengali and Latin

The seventh song of the third season of Coke Studio Bangla, ‘Cafe’, has been released. The song has been brought to life by the voice of popular singer Tanjir Chowdhury Tuhin, along with the melodies of Brazilian artists Livia Matos and Gaurav Chatterjee Gabu.

‘Cafe’ was released on Coke Studio Bangla’s YouTube channel at around 8:30 pm on Friday. As soon as the melody and rhythm picked up, Tanjir Tuhin made his entrance with the magic of his voice, which left the audience completely shocked.

This 5 minute 50 second song is not just about the melody, but also about the feeling. It is a wonderful blend of Bengali and Latin jazz. Afro-Cuban jazz, Latin salsa and Bengali lines come together in Shuvendu Das Shuvo’s music arrangement. Gabu’s rhythm, Livia’s accordion melody and Tanjir Tuhin’s voice – all of them make the song unique; all in all, the feeling is like they are drinking a cafe!

The audience’s comments on the song were also wonderful! First, the audience was surprised to see Tanjir Tuhin, who gained immense popularity from the untitled, avaas. Several of them commented – ‘Hey Tuhin bhai!’

And the overall performance of the song is praised. Especially after listening to this Latin-style music, many fans felt like they were transported back to the eighties! One commented, ‘The nostalgia of the 1980s has returned with a Latin vibe.’

With the release of the song, Cokestudio Bangla wrote in their caption, “A cafe is like a book of thousands of short stories, where the words slowly flow. Here, some words stop in front of the eyes, and memories are wrapped in messy nostalgia. A cafe is the story of that paused time, where each table is a chapter, sometimes a beginning, sometimes an end, sometimes a silent wait.”
