Low pressure area likely to form over sea, may intensify

A low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas in the next 24 hours. It may further intensify later. As a result, rainfall is likely to increase in the next five days, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said.

Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque of the Meteorological Department made such a forecast on Monday (October 20).

The forecast says that rain/thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places in Chittagong division by 6 pm tomorrow. Besides, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies elsewhere in the country. Day and night temperatures are likely to remain almost unchanged across the country.

Rain/thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places in Barisal and Chittagong divisions in the next 24 hours from 6 pm on Wednesday (October 22). In addition, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies elsewhere in the country. Day and night temperatures are likely to remain almost unchanged across the country.

Rain/thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions from 6 pm on Thursday (October 23) in the next 24 hours. Apart from this, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies elsewhere in the country. Day and night temperatures may drop by (1-2) degrees Celsius across the country.

Rain/thunderstorm is likely to occur at some places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Rangpur division in the next 24 hours from 6 pm on Friday (October 24). Day and night temperatures across the country may drop by (1-2) degrees Celsius.
