Lily Launches Safe Cornstarch Baby Powder

For the first time in Bangladesh, Remark’s brand Lily Little One has launched a 100% safe cornstarch powder for babies. After extensive research and development, this American-formulated powder has been approved by pediatric specialists. Made from corn, this cornstarch-based baby powder is considered a completely safe alternative to harmful talcum powder.

One of the country’s largest industrial groups, Remark HB Limited, through its brand Lily Little One, has developed this powder over a span of three years in collaboration with Benchmark Cosmetics Laboratory (USA) and Remark Nature Engineering Lab. The product, recognized globally as cornstarch powder, is now ready for market release after passing multiple tests in leading laboratories in countries like the USA, Thailand, and Poland.

Significantly, the main raw material—corn—is sourced locally from Bangladesh. Industry experts believe this will also contribute positively to the country’s agricultural sector.

S.A.H.M. Shahre Alam, Chief Business Officer of Lily, stated that Lily Little One Cornstarch Baby Powder is the safest and most naturally produced baby powder available in the country. Initially, the product will be available in all Harlen stores and other major departmental stores across the country.
This move comes at a time when a major global powder brand was recently fined over billions of taka by a U.S. court after a user allegedly died of cancer caused by their talcum powder. This incident had a significant global impact, raising concerns among users of talcum-based powders. Since 2020, many international brands have stopped producing and marketing talcum powders due to their harmful effects on the skin. As a result, cornstarch-based baby powders are now being produced and sold in Western countries. However, no such change had occurred in Bangladesh until now. Harmful talcum powders still dominate the market, with flashy advertisements and widespread marketing keeping their dangers hidden from the public.

Taking this issue seriously, Remark’s Lily Little One brand has introduced this research-based, 100% safe cornstarch powder as a healthy and ideal alternative to talcum. Experts believe that small, informed decisions by conscious parents—like choosing safe baby care products—can ensure a healthier, better future for their children.
