
Former minister Latif Siddiqui and journalist Manjurul Alam Panna have been granted bail by the High Court in an anti-terrorism law case. Justice ASM Abdul Mobin and Justice Sagir Hossain passed the order on Thursday (November 6) in a bench.
Latif Siddiqui’s lawyer and his brother Bangabhir Quader Siddiqui have expressed satisfaction with the bail order. However, the state has announced that it will appeal against the bail.
Earlier, on August 28, they were arrested from a program organized by an organization called Manch-71 at Dhaka Reporters Unity.
Later on August 29, a total of 16 people, including former ministers Abdul Latif Siddiqui, Hafizur Rahman Karzan and Md. Abdullah Al Amin, were sent to prison in the same case.
