Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that for 54 years of independence, the country’s dignity was mortgaged to other countries. That cannot be allowed to happen from now on. No place will be given to hegemonists in the country. A change is needed for all this.

He made this statement at an election rally organized by Pabna District Jamaat-e-Islami on Saturday (January 24) night.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “If a ten-party alliance forms a government in the upcoming February 12 elections, we will break the hands of extortionists and corrupt people.”

He further said, “Since August 6, some people have changed their fate by extorting and occupying. We have said that we will not take extortion, we will not commit corruption. If we form the government, we will break the hands of the extortionists and corrupt people. Justice and equality will be ensured.”

Demanding votes from the people of Pabna for the ten-party alliance, Jamaat Amir said, “Bastapcha politics must be shown the red card. We must say yes in the referendum. We will cast a second vote to form the government. Ten parties mean Bangladesh. We will vote for this Bangladesh. If Daripalla wins in Pabna, you will not have to go to us. We will find out and come to you.”

The public meeting was chaired by District Jamaat Ameer and Pabna-4 constituency candidate Abu Taleb Mandal and moderated by Secretary Maulana Abdul Gaffar, and the party’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan addressed the gathering as a special guest. Jamaat-e-Islami’s nominated candidate for Pabna-1 constituency Barrister Nazibur Rahman, Professor Hesab Uddin of Pabna-2 constituency, Maulana Ali Asgar of Pabna-3 constituency and Principal Iqbal Hussain of Pabna-5 constituency, along with leaders and activists from various levels of the 10-party alliance were present.
