Eleven killed in head-on collision between two buses in India

Eleven people were killed and 60 others injured in a head-on collision between two government buses in Kummangudi in Sivaganga division of Tamil Nadu, India, on Sunday (November 30) evening, police said.

“Eleven people, including a child, have been killed,” said the Tamil Nadu police chief.

After the accident, the front of the two buses twisted and turned. People from the surrounding area immediately rushed there. Later, the police also arrived there. The general public and the police rescued many people from inside the bus.

According to NDTV, one bus was going from Tiruppur to Karaikudi. The other was going from Karaikudi to Dindigul.

The image shows the driver’s seat of a bus completely obliterated. The video from the scene of the accident was horrifying. It showed the dead lying in saris. The injured were bleeding. Many were trapped inside the bus.

Last week, six people were killed in a head-on collision between two buses in Tamil Nadu. Eleven more people died in the aftermath of the incident.
