Ayesha, the prime suspect in the murder of a mother and her daughter in the capital’s Mohammadpur area, has been arrested by police.

On Wednesday (10 December), the investigation officer of the case, Mohammadpur Police Station SI Shahidul Osman Masum, confirmed that Ayesha was arrested from her husband’s home. Ayesha from Jhalokathi for her involvement in the double murder in the capital’s Mohammadpur area.

According to the DMP Media Wing, a team from Mohammadpur Police Station arrested the accused domestic worker under the direct supervision of the DC of the Tejgaon Division.

Earlier on Monday (8 December), Laila Firoz (48) and her daughter Nafisa Lawal Binte Aziz (15) were murdered, after which the alleged domestic worker Ayesha fled. CCTV footage showed her entering the lift at 7:51 AM wearing a burqa and going to the 7th floor. At 9:35 AM, she was seen leaving the building wearing a mask, carrying a bag, and dressed in a school uniform.

Nafisa was a ninth-grade student at Mohammadpur Preparatory School.
