An Executive Engineer of Zone–05 under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has been temporarily suspended on allegations of negligence in duty, misconduct and inefficiency.
According to an office order issued on Thursday noon, Md. Mizanur Rahman, acting Executive Engineer of Zone–05, has been suspended from service. The order was signed by DNCC Secretary Muhammad Asaduzzaman.
The order states that administrative action was taken against the responsible engineer under Rule 49 (a), (b) and (d) of the DNCC Employees Service Rules, 2019, following the detection of various irregularities during an inspection of ongoing road construction and renovation works in the Mohammadpur area under Zone–05.
It is noted that on February 25, 2026, State Minister for Education Bobby Hajjaj visited Mohammadpur to inspect several road construction and repair projects. During the inspection, cracks, subsidence and other defects were observed at different points of the works, drawing dissatisfaction from the minister and local residents.
The DNCC authorities have taken the measure as part of administrative procedures to address the Complaint and ensure accountability in project implementation.
