BCB to send letter to ICC on Sunday

The T20 World Cup is set to kick off next month. The tournament is being co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh will play three of their group stage matches in Kolkata and the other in Mumbai. However, the geopolitical tensions between the two countries have increased after Mustafizur Rahman was dropped from the IPL.

India recently finalized the schedule for a two-match white-ball tour of Bangladesh this year, but everything is now in doubt due to political unrest and security concerns over the Mustafiz issue.

The BCB is going to write a letter to the ICC on three issues tomorrow. This decision was taken by the 17 directors present at the board meeting on Saturday night.

BCB will basically email the ICC’s security unit. Where it will first ask about the security of the cricketers, then what happened to Mustafiz. At the same time, BCB will ask about the security of the board directors and other members in addition to the players. The security of spectators and journalists will also be involved.

A top BCB director confirmed this information to Dhaka Post today.
