Army members are not being removed from the field: Home Affairs Advisor

The interim government’s Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that 50 percent of the Bangladesh Army members responsible for controlling the law and order situation are not being removed from the field.

The advisor gave this information in response to a question from journalists after a meeting of the core committee on law and order at the meeting room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Sunday (November 9) afternoon.

The Home Affairs Advisor said that 50 percent of the army personnel responsible for controlling the law and order situation are not being removed from the field; what is being spread in this regard is a rumor, no such decision has been made.

When asked if the government was worried about the Awami League’s program, the advisor said, “The government is not worried about the lockdown or shutdown program they have put in place.”
