Army has entered the field

The government has taken various initiatives to make the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and referendum free, fair and impartial. As part of this, members of the army and other law enforcement agencies have been deployed across the country since Sunday. 1,051 executive magistrates will work to control the situation and implement the code of conduct.

On Sunday (February 8), Senior Election Commissioner of the Election Commission (EC), Abdur Rahmanel Machud, briefed journalists on the preparations for the election and the law and order situation. He highlighted these issues at the time.

He said the army and other forces will remain in the field and perform their duties until February 14, including the post-election period.

Stating that the situation on the ground is currently completely favorable for the elections, Election Commissioner Rahmanel Machud said, “We have held a meeting with the law enforcement agencies. They have confirmed that the situation in the country is satisfactory and conducive for the elections.”

The EC said that law enforcement agencies will work in coordination with the concerned returning officers. The EC’s Central Coordination Cell will monitor the situation round the clock and information will be exchanged through the Suraksha app.

The Election Commission also said that there has been a difference in the deployment of security members between general and risky centers.

According to the Home Ministry circular, a total of 9 lakh members of various forces will be deployed in this election. Outside the metropolitan area, 16-17 members will be deployed in general centers and 17-18 members in risky centers. In the metropolitan area, there will be 16 members in general centers and 17 members in risky centers. 16-18 members will be deployed in remote centers in 25 districts identified as remote areas.

The voting will be held on February 12. All types of election campaigning must end by 7:30 am on February 10 before the voting begins.
