All DNCC Tendered Projects Must Be Completed on Time: Administrator

Administrator of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan, has directed that all ongoing projects under city corporation tenders must be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He also said that past tender processes will be reviewed to determine whether any irregularities occurred and that all Complaint will be properly investigated.

The newly appointed administrator made these remarks at an introductory and exchange meeting with officials and staff of DNCC Zones–1, 6, 7 and 8 at the Sector-6 Community Centre in Uttara on Thursday.

Speaking as the chief guest, the Administrator stressed that mosquito control cannot be ensured solely through spraying insecticides. “Effective mosquito control requires greater public awareness and enhanced monitoring,” he said, instructing mosquito control workers to perform their duties sincerely and on time.

He further warned that no unauthorized work would be allowed within the city corporation. “I have come here to work. People must see that we are sincerely trying to improve the city,” he said.

Urging officials and employees to remain attentive to their responsibilities, he emphasized punctuality and teamwork. “You will always find me accessible. Together, we will work to fulfill the expectations of the people,” he added.

Special guest at the meeting was Member of Parliament for Dhaka-18 constituency, SM Jahangir Hossain.

In his speech, the MP said they had been elected to serve the people and would work within their capacity to advance development in the area. He noted that the newly added wards had not seen visible development in recent years.

He urged swift and effective measures to address waterlogging in Dakshinkhan and called for establishing a DNCC office in Uttarkhan to ease public access to services. “For residents of Uttarkhan, traveling to Uttara for services is extremely difficult,” he said.

During the meeting, regional executive officers highlighted various challenges related to citizen service delivery. Issues such as hawker management and regulation of auto-rickshaws were also discussed.

Regional executive officers and concerned officials and staff from Zones–1, 6, 7 and 8 of DNCC were present at the meeting.
