Biman Bangladesh Airlines has formed a six-member committee to investigate the fire incident at the cargo terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The committee has been directed to submit a report within five working days, determining the cause of the fire, damages and responsibilities.
This information was given in a notification signed by Md. Nawsad Hossain, Director (Administration and Human Resources) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ Administration and Human Resources Directorate on Saturday (October 18).
According to the notification, the Chief (Flight Safety) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been appointed as the chairman of the committee. In addition, a representative from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism will be a member.
Other members of the committee are the General Manager (Corporate Safety and Quality), Chief Engineer (Quality Assurance), Deputy General Manager (Security), Deputy General Manager (Cargo-Export) and Deputy Manager (Insurance).
The committee will identify the cause of the fire, assess the extent of the damage, assign responsibilities, and make necessary recommendations to prevent such accidents in the future, the release said.
The committee has been asked to submit an investigation report to the managing director and CEO within the next five working days. The directive will come into effect immediately, the notification said.
