Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Md Shafiqur Rahman will be the Leader of the Opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad and Jamaat-e-Nayeb-e-Ameer will be the Deputy Leader of the Opposition. The decision was taken at a meeting of the parliamentary party on Tuesday (February 17) after the swearing-in of the MPs.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer of Gaibandha district and MP of Gaibandha-2 constituency Md. Abul Kalam Azad attended the meeting. Abdul Karim confirmed the matter.

According to party sources, the matter will be announced in a joint press release of the 11-party alliance soon.
