Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin will address the nation on Wednesday evening ahead of the general elections. The Election Commission (EC) confirmed the matter in a message on Tuesday (February 10).
EC sources said the Chief Election Commissioner’s speech was recorded on Tuesday evening. It will be broadcast simultaneously on all private television channels and radios in the country, including Bangladesh Television (BTV), Bangladesh Betar, and others on Wednesday (February 11) evening.
It is expected that in the speech, the CEC will inform the countrymen about the overall preparations for the election and urge voters to go to the polling stations without fear and exercise their right to vote.
Apart from this, he will also speak about the distribution of election materials across the country and the overall security arrangements at 42,659 polling stations.
He will highlight the deployment of 958,000 law enforcement officers, installation of CCTV cameras at polling stations, and drone surveillance to ensure a fair environment. At the same time, he will reiterate the Commission’s strong commitment to organizing a free, fair, and participatory election.
It is worth noting that the CEC announced the schedule for the national elections in his address to the nation on December 11 last year.
