A delegation from the MPO-affiliated teachers' organization 'MPO-affiliated Shiksha Jatiyakaranpratyaashi Jote' exchanged views with the Pay Commission on the new salary structure.
At that time, they made a 10-point proposal, including raising the minimum salary of MPO teachers to Tk 30,000 and the maximum salary to Tk 156,000.
Representatives of the alliance will present this proposal at a view-sharing meeting with the Pay Commission on the salary structure at the Secretariat on Thursday (October 30) morning.
The proposal requests that the basic salary of Grade-1 officers be recommended at Tk 1,56,000. In addition, it is proposed to increase the basic salary of Grade-2 officers to Tk 1,40,000, Grade-3 officers to Tk 1,25,000, Grade-4 officers to Tk 1,10,000, Grade-5 officers to Tk 95,000, Grade-6 officers to Tk 80,000, Grade-7 officers to Tk 70,000, and Grade-8 officers to Tk 62,000.
Representatives of the MPO alliance proposed a basic salary of 55,000 taka for grade 9, 50,000 taka for grade 10, 45,000 taka for grade 11, 40,000 taka for grade 12, 35,000 taka for grade 13, and 30,000 taka for grade 14.
10 points proposed by MPO teachers
1. The starting salary of MPO teachers should be paid at the proposed ninth grade.
2. Rent should be paid at the rate of 40-70 percent of the basic salary, like government employees.
3. Festival allowance or bonus should be paid in an amount equal to the basic salary.
4. Baisakhi allowance should be paid in the same amount as the basic salary.
5. The B.Ed Act must be repealed.
6. The committee system must be abolished.
7. Retirement fund and welfare trust money must be paid within 6 months of retirement.
8. Teachers/employees should be included in ration benefits.
9. Leisure and entertainment allowances and benefits should be provided.
10. MPO-listed education must be nationalized.
