BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "There is no chance of a referendum before the national elections. The current crisis has created an interim government." I urge the government not to deceive the nation by lying.
He said this at a discussion meeting of the Freedom Fighters Party at the National Press Club on Saturday (November 1).
Mirza Fakhrul said, "A group wants to forget 1971 in a very planned way. But there is no chance to do that. Because we were born in 1971. The opposing forces of the Liberation War are involved in a conspiracy."
"They called the Liberation War a 'confusion.' The nation has not forgotten that."
The BNP Secretary General also said, "If elections were held within three months of the coup, the evil forces would not have dared to raise their heads. All the reforms are clearly mentioned in our 31-point plan."
"We are in favor of reforms. The next parliament will decide whether there will be PR or not. People are being fooled by saying that there will be no elections if there is no PR," he said, adding that BNP will establish democracy by thwarting all conspiracies.
Regarding Sheikh Hasina's interview, he said, "Sheikh Hasina is giving interviews to various media outlets while sitting in India."
"I would like to request the Indian government to return Sheikh Hasina. Because she will have to face justice."
