Train services on the Agargaon to Shahbagh section of the Metrorail have been suspended again. Train services were suspended after 9pm on Wednesday due to a mechanical fault.
An official of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) told TBS that train services on this section are suspended due to mechanical reasons. Trains will run on the entire route as per the rules from tomorrow.
On the other hand, train services are normal in the Uttara-Agargaon and Shahbagh-Motijheel sections.
Last Sunday around 12:30 pm, the bearing pad at the junction of the pillar and the flyover just west of Farmgate station came loose and fell down. A young man named Abul Kalam died in the incident. After that, the metro rail services were stopped.
Later, at around 3 pm, the metro rail was first launched from Uttara to Agargaon and at around 7:15 pm, the section from Motijheel to Shahbagh. After installing the bearing pads, the metro rail was launched on the entire route at around 11 am on Monday (October 27).
