Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "I unconditionally apologize to all the people who have suffered since 1947."

He said, "This forgiveness is available to the entire nation, even to individuals, there is no problem. None of us have ever said that we are above mistakes."
Shafiqur Rahman said, "99 out of 100 of our decisions are correct, but one may be wrong. That wrong decision may cause harm to the nation. In that case, if any of my decisions causes harm to the nation, then what is the problem with me apologizing?"
