'Shapla Kali' has been added to the Election Commission's (EC) symbol list. The EC has added it at number 102 on this symbol list.

A notification in this regard was issued by the Election Commission Secretariat on Thursday (October 30).

The notification states, 'The Election Commission, by virtue of the powers conferred by Article 94 of the Constitution of 1972, hereby further amends the 'Election Conduct Rules, 2008' as follows.'

It further states, 'The following sub-rule (1) shall be substituted for sub-rule (1) of rule 9 of the above rules. Subject to the other provisions of these rules, any contesting candidate may be allotted any one of the symbols mentioned below, subject to availability, except the symbol suspended under clause 20.
