Cold weather has been setting in since last night, cold wave warning issued

The Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT) has warned that night temperatures will drop significantly in several parts of the country from today (Tuesday). As a result, severe cold may be felt from December 10 to 11. There is a fear that the temperature will drop to around 10 to 11 degrees Celsius, especially in the northern and western parts of the country.

The Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT) shared this information with Dhaka Post on Tuesday (December 2).

BWOT said that temperatures may drop to around 10 degrees to 11 degrees Celsius in some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Khulna divisions, and in the remaining areas, it may be between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius.

Besides, the temperature may drop to around 10 degrees to 11 degrees Celsius in Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Kurigram, Joypurhat, Naogaon, Chapainawabganj, Rajshahi, Natore, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Jessore, Rangpur and Srimangal. In addition, the night temperature may drop to around 13 degrees to 16 degrees Celsius in most places of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Barisal and Chittagong divisions.

The agency said that the temperature is unlikely to fall below 10 degrees Celsius during this period. However, in one or two places in the northwestern region, the temperature may drop below 10 degrees Celsius for a very short period and take the form of a mild cold wave. This situation will depend on the weather conditions at that time. However, the first cold wave of the season may be active in the country a few days later.
