Bangladesh's Red Green Future Stars drew 1-1 with Atletico Charlone of Argentina in their second and final match of the Latin-Bangla Super Cup at the National Stadium on Monday. Masud Rana gave the Red Green the lead, while Alian Samiento equalized for Atletico Charlone in the second half. Masud and Rifat started the competition with a 4-0 defeat against Brazilian third-tier team Sao Bernardo.
However, the Red Greens got off to a promising start against the Argentine team. Masud broke the offside trap in the fourth minute and put the team ahead with a great shot. The referee did not respond to the opposing team's offside appeal.
Argentina equalised early in the second half with a stunning goal from Samiento. The forward's shot from the right flank went through the legs of a teammate and into the near post, leaving the Red Green defenders behind him stunned.
The match was marred by a scuffle between the two sides in the 76th minute. The referee showed red cards to Argentina's David Bevzini and Matias Rosales and Bangladesh's Ishan Habib Redoan. After that, the match ended in a draw as there were no further goals.
Like the first match, there were various mismanagements in this match as well. Despite the announcement of bringing in two legends of Brazil and Argentina, Cafu and Canezia, now there is uncertainty. The organizers of this tournament are in a quandary.
