Bangladesh's top order batsmen could not take advantage of the big target set by Afghanistan U-19. Bangladesh U-19 was in danger after losing 3 wickets in quick succession. However, Bangladesh came back into the match with a brilliant partnership of Kalam Siddiqui and Rizan Hossain. Due to poor lighting in the late afternoon, it was not possible to play the full 50 overs. In this, the youth of Bangladesh won by 5 runs on DL method.
Afghanistan Under-19 team won the toss and elected to bat first in Bogra and scored 265 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. In reply, Bangladesh scored 231 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 46 overs.
Bangladesh did not start well at all. Jawad Abrar returned in the third over of the innings. This opener scored 10 runs in 7 balls. Azizul Hakim Tamim failed to get off to a three. The Bangladesh captain was called up after playing 5 balls.
Another opener Rifat Beg got a good start but could not extend the innings. He returned to score 26 runs off 30 balls. In that, Bangladesh lost three top-order batters for just 60 runs. Rizan and Kalam came to the rescue in such a dire situation for the team.

Then Rizan tried to match the required run rate equation with Mohammad Abdullah. Bangladesh was progressing well on that path. However, there was a lack of light towards the end.
