After almost a decade, the auction system is returning to the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). In the first two editions, the auction process was followed, but later it was not done. This year's BPL auction will be held on Sunday (November 30). Earlier, the BCB added 14 more cricketers to the list.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has dropped several cricketers suspected of fixing. Instead, there have been several other changes in the final list of auctions.
Alis Al Islam, Md. Akhtaruzzaman has been added to the BPL auction. Bangladesh squad: Ashraful Hasan Rohan, Ahmed Sharif, Iftekhar Hossain Ifti, Toufiq Khan Tushar, Rubel Hossain (national team), Ashraful Islam Siam, Ali Md Shafiqul Islam. Walid, Al-Amin (Jr), Nuhail Sandid, Hossain Ali, Shamsul Islam Anik and Zahid Javed.
Earlier, as soon as the auction list was published ahead of the twelfth edition of the BPL, the biggest discussion came to the exclusion of the names of some experienced local cricketers. The sudden absence of some including Enamul Haque Bijoy, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat has raised the question not only among the fans but also among the franchises – what is really happening?
On Saturday (November 29) evening, BPL Governing Council Member Secretary Iftekhar Rahman Mithu answered the questions in front of the media.
